Experiential therapy is one big part of the ‘Options Okanagan’ treatment. We treasure the key role played by experiential therapy methods as a key form of treatment for our clients. Our clients that are struggling with substance abuse and related disorders start developing stronger self-confidence, self-esteem, teamwork skills, and new perspectives. Our process of treatment entails clients taking part in activities that do not involve any mood-altering products so that they can learn to eliminate stress, enjoy themselves, have fun during recovery, and address their personal goals.
Our focus is weekly activities as a way of highlighting the power of esteeming acts and as a way of introducing ‘having fun.’ We provide our clients with a chance to join activities on Sundays and an optional activity days. We balance interests, costs, and athletic requirements to ensure that we serve all our clients and their unique circumstances and needs. Past activities have included boating, sailing, golf, sporting events, snowboarding, skiing, fishing, hiking, and trips to the Art Gallery, among others.
We never miss a chance to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the Okanagan Valley and build fellowship, have fun in sobriety, and help deal with the stresses of treatment. Our activities in the beautiful Okanagan Valley with amazing outings are gender specific and we choose them carefully to support treatment goals and introduce a new way of life. We sincerely believe that excitement and stimulation can exist in the absence of alcohol and drugs. Our outings and activities form a key piece of the treatment program and enable our clients to achieve our mission.
‘Options Okanagan’ staff members are specifically assigned to programs to enable our clients navigate treatment as well as early recovery. Both our male and female client advocates work hand in hand with clinical and operational teams to help deal with the concerns and needs of every client and work to introduce fun in sobriety, enhance engagement with the program and the fellowship of the 12-Step program.
